Remote and Hybrid Notarisation
We carry out transactions at the notary’s office, through remote notarisation, or as hybrid notarisation.
We carry out transactions at the notary’s office, through remote notarisation, or as hybrid notarisation.
Remote notarisation allows notarial acts to be performed via a secure video connection — the notary and the clients are connected through the E-notary self-service portal. A transaction carried out in this way is fully valid and legally equivalent to one performed in person at the notary’s office.
Hybrid notarisation means that some parties are physically present with the notary, while others participate simultaneously via video link. It is a convenient solution when not all parties can be physically present in the same location.
Remote notarisation is an option, not an obligation. All notarial acts can be performed remotely, except for the certification of marriage and divorce.
How Remote Notarisation Works
-
Contact the notary and agree on a suitable time for remote or hybrid notarisation.
-
Log in to the E-notary self-service portal: iseteenindus.notar.ee – you can log in using an ID-card, Mobile-ID, Smart-ID, or an e-resident digital ID.
-
Before the transaction, confirm in the portal that you are ready for the video connection and test it (“Remote notarisation readiness test”).
-
During the transaction, a video call takes place between the notary and the parties. The notary explains the contents of the transaction and shows the documents on screen.
-
The document is signed digitally within the same environment.
-
After the transaction, you can download a copy of the document from the self-service portal.
